I qualified as a Teacher of Mathematics from Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Kent in 2013, enthusiastic and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs, health conditions and mental health. As someone with multiple health conditions I found I had empathy with those students that had similar difficulties and wanted to help them as much as I could.
In 2018 I was no longer able to keep up with classroom teaching for health reasons, so I decided to start my own tuition business to continue supporting as many students as I could. It brings me so much joy being able to watch students succeed in school and further on in their careers!
I specialise in supporting students in mainstream school who have special educational needs (SEN), mental health issues or medical conditions that means they find school hard to access and need a bit of extra support or often have to take time off school to attend appointments - just like I did!
I can train school or college staff on a number of different topics and deliver inspirational and motivational assemblies to students too. I am also an empowerment speaker, demonstrating from my own experience that it is possible to have a good career with a disability.
"Sophie showed such patience and care in her work, not only working on grades with my daughter but ensuring her confidence and wellbeing were considered too. I highly recommend her and we will miss our weekly visits."

"Sophie's knowledge and understanding around disability is amazing and she puts what she knows into practice. Sophie is such a positive role model for those who know her and those who don't. She makes a great impact to those who she comes in contact with."

"I had Sophie for my third GCSE resit and I went up a whole grade! I went from hating maths to liking it which completely changed my mindset! Definitely recommend!"

"Sophie is amazing, not only caring, kind and supportive to everyone that she meets, despite the pain she is in herself, but really goes out of her way to help others."

"Amazing tutor, lessons always well planned but can be changed if they are struggling with something at school. Recommend highly."

"Sophie helped our son with GCSEs after deciding to home educate due to bullying at his former school. Sophie went above and beyond with her tuition and helped secure a place for him at one of Kent's best grammar schools for him to sit his A Levels. I can whole heartedly recommend her service."
